About Us
Q. Renee, you are a Christian. What does that mean in the arena of decorating when that all revolves around material possessions, isn't that a conflict of values?
A. I have had to reconcile through this with God, because I did feel it was a conflict of values. The Bible has many things to say about money and to not focus on worldly goods. But, the Bible also is a great display of God as a creative God. His first wor
ds spoken for his people were to create, "Let there be light." God created this world and everything in it, and while we are in this world, we are to show God's characteristics to others while here. God has gifted me with a creative ability to decorate our dwelling places. It is the use of things around us that allows me to create homes that are as God intended; places of peace, rest, hospitality, warm, friendly, inviting, loving, caring, safe places.
Most Embarrassing Moment: accidently running over my future husband's foot on our first date (he thought I wanted to get out of there as soon as possible because I might of thought it was a bad date, all I could think of was that I better leave quick before I do something stupid and ruin this- go figure.)
Priceless to me: laughing till your sides hurt, smiling so much your face hurts
Favorite quote: Drink coffee- do stupid things faster with more energy!
Decorating wish: endless budget (is that an oxymoron?)
Platform: Forget random acts of kindness! I believe and advocate intentional kindness. We must be intentional and consciousious of our actions or lack there of. We must become more intentful in our world and how we effect it. It takes effort and work to be mindful of the people around us. If we all became more intentional in our kindnesses, the world would change.

Q. Where did the name "A Touch Of Mink" come from?
A. When I was in college, I worked and had my own apartment which I decorated with great passion since it was the first space of my own. I had shared a bedroom with my sister until I was 17- so having my own space was an amazing transformation that allowed me to express myself. I had a friend who was an NFL player for the Indianapolis Colts that asked for my help in decorating his house. From there came more referrals of football players that were single and needed help with their homes. Since my last name was Mink, the name just came out as A Touch Of Mink.
On a more personal level, I am married and have two children, a 6 year old son and a 2½ year old daughter. At present, I am enrolled at Asbury Theological Seminary, working on my Master's in Theology. I am an active member of Shalimar United Methodist Church where I teach Bible study and serve as the volunteer education coordinator for adult studies. My husband and I also own two Liberty Tax Service franchises where I do marketing and PR. In the past, I worked for Pricewaterhousecoopers for six years as the firm's Payroll Manager, and as a Human Resources Manager.
